💜 From My Heart to Yours

Last month, I began taking a closer look at how I was spending my time and energy.

For most of the summer, I realized I had been caught on that hamster wheel of go, go, go. There was always something that needed to be done, somewhere I needed to be, or something else asking for my attention. Somewhere along the way, I stopped leaving enough space for rest and for the things that lift my spirits, expand my heart, and help me feel like myself.

Eventually, I began feeling exhausted all the time.

And as I've slowed down enough to really look at what was happening, I've come to understand that I no longer have the luxury of ignoring what my body and spirit have been telling me—and, honestly, what they had been trying to tell me all summer.

I need more space.

Space to rest. To meditate. To read. To relax. To move my body. To spend time with my family. To play. To simply be without always needing to accomplish something.

Being on a spiritual path and continually learning, growing, healing, and digging more deeply into ourselves and our shadows can be fantastically wonderful. I genuinely love this journey and everything it continues to teach me.

And it can also be hard.

Life keeps moving while we're doing all of that inner work. There are responsibilities to tend to, people we care about, work that matters to us, and all of the ordinary things that fill our days. If we aren't paying attention, it's surprisingly easy to get caught in the constant movement of life and somehow leave ourselves behind.

That's what happened to me.

Maybe that's part of why I feel so grateful for autumn this year. I've always loved this season, but right now the beginning of these slower, more inward months feels especially welcome. I feel like I can breathe again. Like I can step off the wheel for a moment, take stock of what has been working, notice what hasn't, and decide what I want to adjust as I move into this next season.

One of the things I'm understanding more fully is just how important it is for me to consciously curate a schedule that actually works for me in this moment of my life.

Not the schedule I think I should be able to maintain. Not one built entirely around everything I want or need to accomplish. A schedule that leaves room for the practices, people, experiences, and quiet moments that support my health, my spirituality, and yes, my sanity too.

That feels very connected to the intentions I'm carrying into this New Moon.

For me, this isn't about creating a list of new goals or resolutions. In many ways, I'm going back to the beginning. I'm returning to practices I already love and know support me in my everyday life—meditation, journaling, moving my body, resting, playing, and creating more room to simply enjoy my life.

I'm beginning again with renewed intention.

And I know I won't do it perfectly.

There will probably be weeks when my schedule becomes too full again. There will be days when I don't meditate, when I stay at my computer longer than I intended, or when I realize I've slipped back into that familiar rhythm of doing rather than being.

But I've learned that moving backward for a moment doesn't mean I've lost everything I've learned.

I can notice.

I can stop.

I can take a deep breath.

And I can begin again.

Because life is messy. I don't believe our healing or spiritual growth is about creating a perfectly controlled life where we never lose our balance. For me, it's about learning how to move with life while remaining conscious of myself within it. It's about intention, flow, and eventually embodying the things we've learned rather than simply knowing them.

Perhaps that's one of the invitations of this New Moon in Virgo.

We can set beautiful intentions for what we'd like to welcome into our lives. And then we can look at the lives we're actually living and ask ourselves whether we're creating the space those intentions need in order to grow.

Sometimes that may mean beginning something new. Sometimes it may mean returning to something we already know nourishes us. And sometimes it may mean recognizing that a habit, commitment, expectation, or way of using our energy simply isn't supporting us anymore.

For me, this New Moon feels like an opportunity to begin again—not by reinventing myself, but by intentionally returning to what I already know helps me feel grounded, connected, healthy, and whole.

And perhaps there is something in your own life asking for that same kind of attention.

As you move into this new lunar cycle, I invite you to consider what you want to cultivate, but also what will help you make room for it.

What supports you now?

What helps you feel more like yourself?

What deserves more room in your life?

And what small, intentional adjustments might allow you to create that room?

You don't have to have it all figured out.

You can begin where you are.

And if you find yourself back on the wheel somewhere along the way, you can stop, breathe, listen to yourself, and begin again.

🌿 Understanding This New Moon

Every New Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle—a quiet invitation to pause, turn inward, and plant the seeds of intentions that reflect what we hope to cultivate in the weeks and months ahead. There is something hopeful about this phase of the Moon. We are standing at the beginning again, with an opportunity to consider where we are now, what matters to us, and what we would like to nurture as we move forward.

This month's New Moon takes place in Virgo, an earth sign associated with discernment, groundedness, well-being, thoughtful routines, practical care, and tending to the details of everyday life. Ruled by Mercury, Virgo also encourages reflection and thoughtful consideration, helping us notice where greater clarity or intention may be needed.

There can be a tendency to associate Virgo with productivity, organization, or getting everything just right, but there is a much more meaningful invitation within this energy. Virgo reminds us that the lives we create are shaped in part by the ways we care for ourselves and what matters to us each day.

That makes this New Moon a beautiful time to consider not only what you want to welcome into your life, but how you can support what you are choosing to cultivate.

An intention may begin with a desire, a hope, or an inner knowing that something is ready to grow. But eventually, that intention asks something of us. It may ask us to make room, change a habit, take a practical step, return to something supportive, care for ourselves differently, or become more conscious of where our time and energy are going.

This is where Virgo's gift of discernment can be especially helpful.

As you consider your intentions for this lunar cycle, you might begin noticing what is already supporting the life you want to create and what could use some adjustment. Perhaps there is something you've drifted away from that you know helps you feel grounded and connected. Maybe your days have become so full that there is very little space for what nourishes you. Or perhaps you've simply realized that something that once worked well for you no longer fits who you are or what you need now.

Realignment doesn't have to happen all at once.

A small change in the way you move through your day can become a meaningful expression of a much larger intention. What matters is that the choices you're making begin to reflect what you know about yourself and what you are choosing to grow.

This is also where the New Moon connects beautifully with September's theme of Integration & Harvest.

Harvest invites us to recognize what has grown through the experiences we've had and the work we've already done. We can gather the wisdom from those experiences and begin asking how we want to carry it forward. Integration is what allows that wisdom to become part of the way we actually live.

Perhaps you've learned that you need more rest than you once allowed yourself. Maybe you've discovered a boundary that helps you remain grounded, a spiritual practice that brings you back to center, or a way of caring for yourself that genuinely changes how you feel. You may have become more aware of what drains your energy, what restores it, what brings you joy, or what helps you hear your own inner voice more clearly.

The invitation now is to take what you know and begin living it with greater intention.

For empaths and highly sensitive people, this kind of conscious realignment can be especially supportive. When we are naturally aware of the needs, emotions, and energy around us, it can be easy for our own needs to become one more thing we'll tend to later. Creating supportive rhythms gives us regular opportunities to return to ourselves—to notice how we're feeling, reconnect with our own energy, and make choices from a more grounded and centered place.

Virgo's discernment can also help us recognize that what supports us will continue to change.

A routine that worked beautifully six months ago may not fit the season we're in now. A commitment that once felt meaningful may require more energy than we currently have available. Even a spiritual practice we deeply value may need to evolve as we do.

There is wisdom in being willing to notice those changes and ask what genuinely supports us now.

From that awareness, we can set intentions rooted in the lives we're actually living rather than an idealized version of what we think our lives should look like.

As you move through this New Moon, consider what you would like to cultivate during the lunar cycle ahead. Then allow yourself to go one step deeper.

What will help you support that intention?

What practices, choices, boundaries, or rhythms will give it room to grow?

What might benefit from a thoughtful adjustment?

And where might you benefit from simply beginning again?

The New Moon reminds us that we are always allowed another beginning. Virgo reminds us that what we plant also needs our care.

Together, they offer a beautiful opportunity to create intentions with both hope and grounded awareness—to listen to what your inner wisdom is asking for, make thoughtful choices that support it, and begin bringing what you know into the way you live each day.

As this new lunar cycle begins, may your intentions be rooted in what genuinely nourishes you, and may the small choices you make each day help those intentions slowly become part of the life you are creating.

✨ Reflection Questions

Take your time with these questions. There is no need to answer them all at once. Trust whichever question calls to you first.

  • What am I ready to intentionally cultivate during this new lunar cycle?

  • What have I learned about myself recently that I am ready to integrate more fully into my everyday life?

  • What practices, routines, or choices help me feel most grounded, supported, and connected to myself?

  • Where in my life could a small, thoughtful adjustment create greater balance or ease?

  • What is currently receiving most of my time and energy, and does that reflect what matters most to me right now?

  • What am I continuing to make space for that may no longer support the life I am creating?

  • What would it look like to consciously create more room for rest, joy, connection, or the things that genuinely nourish me?

  • What is one intention I can plant now, and how can I support it through the choices I make each day?

🌙 A Healing Haven Lunar Ritual

This ritual is an invitation, not a requirement. Adapt it in whatever way feels most supportive for you.

Prepare Your Space

Choose a quiet place where you can be fully present with yourself.

If it feels meaningful, gather a few items that help you connect with this New Moon's energy, such as:

  • A candle

  • Your journal

  • A favorite crystal

  • A cup of herbal tea

  • Your favorite oracle deck

  • A small object from nature, such as a stone, leaf, flower, or sprig of an herb

Take a few slow, steady breaths.

Allow yourself to settle into the space you've created.

Notice how your body feels.

Notice your energy.

Notice anything that has been asking for your attention.

You don't need to change or figure anything out right now.

Simply give yourself a few moments to be present with yourself.

Create a Moment of Presence

Close your eyes and place both feet firmly on the floor or ground beneath you.

Take a slow breath in.

As you exhale, imagine yourself settling more deeply into your body and into the present moment.

Continue breathing slowly, allowing your attention to move away from everything waiting outside this space and gently return to you.

When you feel ready, place one hand over your heart and the other wherever feels comforting.

Quietly say:

"I welcome this new beginning with intention and an open heart. May I recognize what truly supports me, create space for what I wish to cultivate, and trust myself to begin again whenever I need to."

Take a few more slow breaths before opening your eyes.

Set Your Intention

Return to your journal.

Think about what you would genuinely like to cultivate during this new lunar cycle.

Rather than creating a long list of things you'd like to accomplish or change, choose one intention that feels especially meaningful to you right now.

Ask yourself:

"What am I ready to intentionally cultivate in my life?"

Write whatever comes to you.

Then take your reflection one step further by asking:

"What will help me support this intention?"

Perhaps your intention needs more time, rest, consistency, movement, creativity, connection, boundaries, spiritual practice, or practical action.

Consider one or two small ways you can begin creating space for what you've chosen.

If you notice something in your current routine or use of your time and energy that isn't supporting your intention, simply acknowledge it with curiosity. You may decide there is something you want to adjust as you move forward.

Finish by writing your intention in a way that feels natural and meaningful to you.

Let it become something you can return to throughout the lunar cycle—a reminder of what you are choosing to nurture and how you want to support its growth.

Oracle Card Practice

Tending the Intention Spread

Shuffle your oracle deck while holding your intention gently in your awareness.

Draw one to three cards.

Card One
What wants to be cultivated in my life during this new lunar cycle?

Card Two
What will help me support and nurture this intention?

Card Three
What practical or intentional step am I being invited to take?

Spend a few quiet moments noticing what arises as you look at your cards.

Before reaching for the guidebook, pay attention to your own impressions first. Notice the imagery, symbols, words, feelings, or intuitive responses that naturally draw your attention.

Consider how the message of your cards might connect with the intention you've chosen and the way you would like to support it in the weeks ahead.

Quiet Integration

Sit quietly for several minutes.

You may choose to meditate.

Listen to calming music.

Spend a few moments outside.

Sip your tea.

Or simply sit with your journal and allow everything you've explored to settle.

There is nothing more you need to accomplish.

Before closing your ritual, return to the intention you wrote.

Place both hands over your heart and take one slow, deep breath.

Remind yourself that you do not need to embody your intention perfectly for it to be meaningful. You are simply choosing to become more conscious of what you are cultivating and how you are supporting it.

Offer yourself gratitude for taking this time to listen, reflect, and begin again.

Blow out your candle, knowing that the intention you've planted can continue to grow through the small, thoughtful choices you make throughout this lunar cycle.

🔮 Crystal & Plant Allies

As with every Healing Haven practice, these are offered as gentle companions rather than necessities. Trust your own intuition if another crystal, flower, herb, or essential oil feels more supportive for you during this New Moon. Your relationship with these natural allies will always be more meaningful than following a prescribed list.

Crystals

Moss Agate

With its steady, earthy energy, Moss Agate is a beautiful companion for new beginnings, growth, and creating strong foundations for what we hope to cultivate. Its connection with the natural world also reminds us that meaningful growth takes time and benefits from consistent care.

Amazonite

Amazonite supports clarity, balance, and honest self-reflection, making it a helpful ally when considering what genuinely feels aligned with your needs and intentions. Its calming energy can encourage us to quiet outside influences and listen more closely to our own inner wisdom as we make thoughtful choices about where to place our time and energy.

Smoky Quartz

Grounding and stabilizing, Smoky Quartz can help bring us back into the present moment when life feels busy, scattered, or overwhelming. It offers supportive energy for creating greater steadiness while helping us become more conscious of what we are carrying and where we may be ready to make adjustments.

Essential Oils

Lavender

Calming and balancing, Lavender can support moments of rest, reflection, and quiet presence. Its gentle aroma makes it a beautiful companion when creating space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and listen more closely to what your body and spirit may be asking for.

Rosemary

Fresh and clarifying, Rosemary is traditionally associated with focus, memory, and mental clarity. Its bright herbal aroma can support reflection and intention-setting when you are considering what deserves your attention and how you would like to move forward.

Herbal Tea

A warm cup of lemon balm, chamomile, or tulsi tea can create a simple moment of pause during your New Moon practice. Each offers its own gentle invitation to slow down, settle into the present moment, and create a little more space for reflection before setting your intentions.

Flowers

Asters, chrysanthemums, or lavender can be beautiful additions to your New Moon space. Their late-summer and early-autumn presence reflects this seasonal threshold between what has already grown and what we are preparing to carry forward. If available to you, allow them to serve as a simple reminder that tending, growth, and change are all natural parts of the cycles we move through.

🌿 Closing Blessing

May this New Moon remind you that you are always allowed to begin again.

May you give yourself the space to listen closely to what your body, heart, and spirit are asking for, and may you trust the wisdom you discover there.

May you recognize what truly supports you in this season of your life and create more room for the practices, relationships, experiences, and quiet moments that help you feel grounded, nourished, and connected to yourself.

May you honor all that your experiences have taught you and carry that wisdom forward in ways that become part of how you live, care for yourself, and move through the world.

May you have the discernment to notice where something may need to shift and the courage to make thoughtful adjustments when they are needed.

May you release the expectation that you have to get everything right.

May you remember that an intention does not require perfection. It asks only that you continue returning to what matters with presence, care, and conscious choice.

When life becomes busy and you find yourself moving faster than your spirit would like, may you remember that you can stop.

You can breathe.

You can listen.

And you can begin again.

May the intentions you plant beneath this New Moon be rooted in what genuinely supports the life you are creating.

May you nurture them through small, meaningful choices.

May you remain open to adjusting as you grow and as your needs change.

And may this new lunar cycle help you bring what you know more fully into the way you live—creating a life that feels increasingly aligned with who you are, what you value, and what you are ready to cultivate.

May your intentions take root with purpose.

May you tend to yourself as lovingly as you tend to what you hope to grow.

And may you trust that each conscious choice becomes part of the life you are creating.
